The way the points are given is hardly fair

Hi, I would like tell you about this problem that makes the tipping in TDF quite unfair. In the beginning there were over 200 participants and therefore the winner got 500 pts. Now there are usually about 190 participants and the vinner gets 200 pts. In other words: the winners of the first stages have a huge lead to the others, just because the participants are about 15 less than before. I think most of us would be happy if the pointsystem would be changed. Thanks for a nice site!

The only question is: would you complain if you would have won the first stage? These are the rules and I find it easy to live with them since it certainly is harder to win out of 210 players than 190.

Maybe I wouldn't complain if i won but I'd still know it isn't fair. What if there were 199 players and you won. Would it have been much harder to win with one more participant?

PS. This is just a improvement proposal, I'm not angry or sad with the situation

First of all, I am in no way affiliated with the site so I can't actually change anything. I do however think that the current system is okay, even if there are 199 tippers or 200 tippers. Although the difference is huge between the winners, there is quite some compensation for it in the middle and lower rank (where I am usually found). Because with 200 tippers a whole lot of people will get points that otherwise would not have made any.

Lastly, I strongly believe that, if someone has a better understanding than someone else, they still will be on top (on average) regardless of the scoring system used.

I fully agreew with Anttu.
Maybe a possible solution could be that the winner always gets the total number of participants as winning points.
runner up receives 80% of it, third one 65%.
And further scaled down in certain percentage proportions so that approx. the first 30% of participants get points and the last 70% no points (yes, then I would probably have no points at all in this year's Tour so far... )

But at the end, it's not about winning...

Never change a winning/succesfully betting game !

I read that Live-Cup was creat by girlfriend from
boss of this site.

The borderline between 200 and 500 points, thats
the big deal.

Livecup is like poker game.

Anttu, I really understand what you mean.
But if you begin to count in another way it is not quite as unfair as you think.

You said... Person A wins Prolog and gets 500 Points, you win stage 2 and get 200 points. The difference ist 300 points by online 15 people less.

But you forgot to count your rank in the prolog.
Perhaps you are in position 5 in the prolog (this would make another 200 points) and Person A make position 5 on stage 2 (this would make only 70 points).
So Person A has 570 points, you have 400 points. The difference is now by only 170 and not 300 points, like you count it. Think about it. You have to watch at more than only the first place.

The system is very fair, because you get more points, if you win against more competitors, and you also get mor points, if you get a good position, when there are more competitors.
